Create your custom wallpaper for Audiomodern Soundbox

Designing coherent artwork for your soundbanks can easily become a distraction from what really matters: writing music and shaping sound. Opening a heavyweight graphics application just to create a simple cover or thumbnail is often overkill, especially if you “just” need something clean, readable and visually in line with your existing catalog.

To solve exactly this problem, we created SB Wallpaper Design by Cinematic Alpha – a lightweight, browser-based tool dedicated to Soundbox-style artwork.

You can try it here:

What SB Wallpaper Design is

SB Wallpaper Design is a static wallpaper generator focused on a very specific use case:

  • creating 1024 × 768 abstract backgrounds
  • optimized for Soundbox soundbanks and related releases

It runs completely in your browser using HTML5 Canvas – no installation, no plugins, no external dependencies. Open the page, tweak a few controls, and export a ready-to-use PNG that drops directly into your Soundbox ecosystem.

The goal is simple: give composers and sound designers a quick way to generate artwork that feels consistent with Cinematic Alpha’s visual language, without forcing anyone into a complex graphic workflow.

Key Features

SB Wallpaper Design has been tuned around real-world needs from the Soundbox universe:

Fixed 1024 × 768 Canvas

The tool works at a fixed resolution designed around Soundbox artwork. This makes exports predictable and avoids odd aspect-ratio surprises when you drop the image into your projects.

15 Static Abstract Background Styles

You can choose between 15 different static styles, inspired by smoke/waterpipe bands, polygon meshes, waves, grids, rings, noise textures and more. They are all generative, but non-animated: perfect for covers, product pages and promo graphics.

Customizable Title and Subtitle

You can set your own Title (e.g. “Your Soundpack Title”) and Subtitle (e.g. “Your Subtitle”) and keep them aligned using a magnet grid. This makes it easy to maintain clean, professional typography over complex abstract backgrounds.

Logo Support with Resize

You can import your PNG logo, place it on the canvas and adjust its size via a dedicated control. This allows you to quickly create branded artwork for new Soundbox releases or updates.

Ghost Panel for Readability

To keep text readable over busy backgrounds, SB Wallpaper Design includes a ghost panel at the bottom of the artwork. You can enable/disable it and adjust its opacity, so you always find a balance between visual style and legibility.

Fine Control Over Colours and Density

You can freely adjust:

  • Background gradient colours
  • Shape/stroke colour
  • Density / complexity of the pattern
  • Thickness / spread
  • Glow intensity

This gives you enough control to stay on brand while still introducing variation between different soundbanks.

One-Click PNG Export

Once you are happy with your layout, you can export the result as a PNG with a single click. The exported file is ready for use as a cover image, product thumbnail, preview render or promo graphic.

Workflow: from idea to artwork in minutes

The typical workflow in SB Wallpaper Design is very straightforward:

  1. Choose a background style
  2. Pick one of the 15 styles (smoke bands, polygons, waves, hex cells, halftone dots, etc.), then adjust density, spread, thickness and glow.
  3. Refine the colour palette
  4. Set your gradient colours for top and bottom, tweak the line/shape colour, or use the random palette function as a starting point.
  5. Set title and subtitle
  6. Enter your soundbank name and subtitle, choose a font from the integrated Google Fonts list, and adjust text size and colour.
  7. Align using the magnet grid
  8. Move the title block to where you want it visually, using the grid snapping to keep things clean and balanced.
  9. Add your logo
  10. Import your PNG logo, resize it and position it in relation to the title and the overall composition.
  11. Use the ghost panel if needed
  12. If the background is very complex, enable the ghost panel and adjust its opacity so the text stands out clearly.
  13. Export as PNG
  14. When you’re done, export the wallpaper as a PNG and drop it into your Soundbox product, teaser page or promo assets.

The whole process is designed to take minutes, not hours.

Made for Soundbox, useful anywhere

While SB Wallpaper Design is built around Soundbox artwork, you can use it for more than just product covers:

  • Thumbnails for videos showcasing your Soundbox presets
  • Promo graphics for socials and newsletters
  • Temporary artwork for in-development projects
  • Internal concepts for future soundbanks

Because everything is generated in the browser, you can iterate quickly: change title, tweak the palette, export a new PNG and compare variations without leaving the page.

Free tool with optional donation

SB Wallpaper Design is available free of charge.

If you find it useful and want to support further tools in the same spirit – focused, practical utilities for independent composers and sound designers – you have the option to make a donation.
